How do we move beyond echo chambers and bring more people into the movement for Palestinian rights? In this presentation, Moneer Rifai will share a different kind of activism, one rooted in extreme empathy, human connection, and face-to-face dialogue. By focusing on the importance of dialogue and acknowledging the pain of everyone involved in this conflict, he has found it effective to reach a wider range of audiences, including the media, and ultimately shift perspectives. By engaging with the Jewish community and fostering mutual understanding, Moneer has seen how we can build unlikely alliances. It’s not about giving up the fight—it’s about changing the way we fight for justice.
About the speaker: Moneer is a Palestinian American with roots in Lebanon, now living in Minnesota. He is dedicated to community-building, fostering civil dialogue, promoting peace, and amplifying moderate voices to create positive, lasting change. He has spoken to many community groups, schools and congregations. He has been featured on Minnesota Public Radio and other media outlets.
