“Palestine, the Israel Exception, and the Collapse of International Law”

About the presenter: Craig Mokhiber is an international human rights lawyer, analyst, writer, activist, former senior United Nations Official, and a member of the Gaza People’s Tribunal. He left the UN in October of 2023, penning a widely read letter that warned of genocide in Gaza, criticized the international response, and called for a new approach to Palestine based on equality, human rights and international law. He has spent four decades in the international human rights movement, including more than thirty years at the United Nations. At the UN he was the Director of the human rights office at UN Headquarters in New York, held senior UN positions in Geneva, New York and in the field, served as the senior human rights advisor in Palestine and in Afghanistan, was Chief of Staff of the High Level Mission on Darfur, and carried out human rights missions to dozens of countries across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Latin America.
