Dr. Alice Rothchild will present a general historical framework and background on Gaza before October 7, the impact of the assault on the health care system and general infrastructure, the consequences for the civilian population and implications for human rights violations, and possible steps the audience can take to pressure the US government which has continued to provide massive amounts of military support and political cover for Israel.

About the Speaker

Alice Rothchild is a retired obstetrician-gynecologist who worked in the health care reform and women’s movements for many years. She directed a documentary film and is now writing and speaking, and blogs when inspired or particularly outraged by the state of the world. Since 1997, she has focused much of her energy on understanding the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.
