Miko Peled
Miko Peled is not Palestinian; in fact, he is culturally Jewish. His family’s heritage is European, and includes a grandfather who was a signer of the Israeli Declaration of Independence in May 1948 and a father who was a prominent general in the Israeli Army in the 1960s-1970s. But like the Palestinians whose human rights he fights for, Peled has a personal history marred by the far-reaching tragedy that is the state of Israel. A family loss galvanized Peled’s efforts to discover the story behind Israel/Palestine and transformed his life.
Please join this webinar to hear the unique and inspiring story of this author, speaker, and human rights advocate. Peled’s calls for justice for the Palestinians, his eloquent support of the Boycott/Divest/Sanction (BDS) movement, and his advocacy for the creation of a single democracy for Israelis and Palestinians are the result of his personal journey. His brilliance and clear voice as a writer and speaker make his story everyone’s story.
About Miko Peled: Author of two books, “The General’s Son: Journey of an Israeli in Palestine (2012), and “Injustice: The Story of the Holy Land Foundation Five (2017);” contributor to Mondoweiss and The Electronic Intifada; producer of The Miko Peled Podcast; and accomplished professional martial arts teacher. Peled lives in the United States, travels frequently to Palestine, and speaks internationally.
