Throughout his presentation, Kristian referenced a few of his recent articles:

How Palestine advocates can support Black struggle (June 19, 2020)

Solidarity means insisting on Palestinian right of return (May 14, 2020)

Ex-Mossad agents harass US students, BDS activists (March 9, 2019)

At the beginning of his presentation, Kristian mentioned the action of reparations, the redistribution of wealth, land, and power to peoples oppressed by colonialism (notably Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), noting that the root of the word “reparation” is “repair” as in working to repair pain and damage. At the conclusion of his time with us this morning, Kristian invited us to commit to making a reparation by donating to the Detroit Black Community Food Security Network

About Kristian

Kristian Davis Bailey will give insight into what is needed from Palestinian justice organizers to support and strengthen ties with the Black liberation movement, and why continued intersectionality between these movements is essential for the success of both.

He is a co-founder of Black for Palestine and co-author of the 2015 Black Solidarity with Palestine Statement signed by over 1,000 Black activists including Angela Davis, Cornel West and Mumia Abu-Jamal.
